Scotland's landscape features 30,000 lochs, 7,000 miles of coastline & over 400 islands.
All top ten highest mountains in the British Isles are located in Scotland. Seven of the largest ten lochs are also here (the other three are in N.Ireland). The deepest, Loch Morar plunges over 1,000 feet into the bedrock. Loch Ness, arguably the most famous, contains more fresh water than all the lochs in England & Wales combined. Twice over.
Eas a Chual Aluinn, a spectacular waterfall in Assynt is the tallest in the British Isles, dropping 638 feet. The tallest sea cliffs in Western Europe at over 1,200 feet, rise out of the Atlantic on the island of St. Kilda while back on the mainland, the salmon rich, River Tay is the largest in the British Isles by volume.
Scotland is indeed a very special place.
